Project Management

Appointing a Project Manager is critical to delivering a successful residential redevelopment project and at Snowdon James we consider this to be our ‘raison d’etre’. Our project management team have had many years experience in delivering projects of all shapes and sizes and they know how to keep a project moving apace. Managing timelines efficiently and ensuring that decisions are taken in good time, ensures that homeowners have all the necessary time they need to reach design and sourcing decisions and feel fully involved in the process at all times. In so doing, projects are not only delivered on time, and on budget, but that the newly redeveloped home is as the homeowner envisaged when they started the design process.

At Snowdon James we work differently to traditional project management or building contractor firms in that we contract suppliers on your behalf at cost, the results of which can save homeowners on average many tens of thousands of pounds in redevelopment costs. In many instances, and depending on the size of project, this can also mean that the savings we make come close to, or indeed exceed, our fees for managing the project on your behalf.

As project managers we use our development expertise, and those of the many specialists on our team, to ensure that any delays to a project are restricted exclusively to the ‘unexpected’ and not because decisions were taken too late in the process.

In addition to successfully managing the project and keeping it moving, our role is also to protect homeowners from (1) signing supplier contracts that do not suitably protect the homeowner and (2) ensure that your home remains suitably insured whilst work is being undertaken. All too often homeowners do not have adequate levels of insurance as they are under the distinct impression that the contractor’s public liability & professional indemnity insurance will suffice. This is often not the case and Snowdon James is well versed in making insurance recommendations to ensure your home remains fully protected for the duration of the build.

Finally, as project managers all the experience in the world cannot make up for being on site regularly, watching the build and feeling the space as it evolves. Many changes to the internal design and specification are made at this stage and often without incurring any additional costs. Your home is not being built to a cookie-cutter set of plans, therefore, this approach ensures a unique and stylish home is created for you and your family. At Snowdon James we pride ourselves on raising every design opportunity with our clients, many of which have little or no cost attached to them.
